  8. is a spreadsheet program that is as easy as... 1-2-3, right? Besides the clever
  9. name, this program looks and works amazingly like Mr. Big. The worksheet size is
  10. 8,192 rows by 256 columns. There is on-line help, but the user is assumed to be
  11. familiar with Lotus 1-2-3. This is primarily intended for people who use 1-2-3
  12. at the office and want a compatible program for use at home. The graphics
  13. plotting also supports the EGA and Hercules mono adapters.

  15. Other features include spreadsheet linking; many graph types; the ability to
  16. export graphics in PIC format for importing to word processing and DTP
  17. programs; a structure that will allow development of Add-In's (some of which
  18. are included on this disk); the ability to import and export dBase compatible
  19. files; many Time, Financial and Statistical functions; string handling
  20. functions, including lower/upper case conversion, concatenation, trimming,
  21. string comparisons, look-up string tables and more; user-definable functions;
  22. expansion of the macro buffer to 2k; HP LaserJet and 24-pin printer graphics
  23. support; cell auditing, which lets you point to a cell and have all other
  24. cells which are linked to it be highlighted; the ability to save default
  25. settings; file merging options; graph data labels; the ability to display

  34. portrait or landscape orientation and in the font of your choice on Epson
  35. compatible printers.  Two internal fonts are currently available.  A companion
  36. program makes it easy to create your own printer fonts.

  38. This is an excellent package. Unlike other sideways printing programs in the
  39. PSL, Pivot does not require you to save your file in ASCII; it will print the
  40. WKS file. However, it does not work from within your spreadsheet program; it
  41. is a stand-alone program. Since As-Easy-As is largely compatible with Lotus
  42. 1-2-3, it will also print some WKS files from 1-2-3 and other compatible
  43. programs. The font design program makes it a snap to design your own fonts.

  63. InstaCalc lets you pop up a spreadsheet in the middle of your word processing
  64. or database program and exchange data between the program and InstaCalc.

  66. 1-2-3 (WKS) files, numerous built-in functions (math, stats, finance, logical,
  67. etc), macros, data search, the ability to limit recalculation to a specified
  68. cell range, to hide a column from view, to import multiple columns off the
  69. screen at the same time, and to import and export data.

  95. At 64 columns by 512 rows maximum, it has the highest capacity of the bunch.
  96. Like the others, it has numerous built-in functions just like the big boys.
  97. This is certainly worth a look before you pay the big bucks for 1-2-3, et al.

  108. support.

  111. user. For example, you can create a useful spreadsheet without any knowledge

  115. limited word processor.

  179. extensive context sensitive help and easy to use menus.

  190. capability, and the ability to save a graph to a disk file for later editing
  191. or printing.

  202. is a powerful 3D, programmable spreadsheet program that was a previous PC
  203. Magazine Editor's Choice. It's numerous features include a large 3-dimensional
  204. structure (255 rows by 255 columns by 255 pages) with the ability to rotate
  205. the cube to view slices of data in different ways; true programmability with a
  206. real programming language that can exist either as ASCII files or in cells;
  207. true date and time math; and many built-in functions.

  209. PS is the only spreadsheet where the bounds of a range can be computed based
  210. on the values of other cells (eg: sum the range beginning at month `x' and
  211. ending at month `y' where `x' and `y' are computed). Where other spreadsheets
  212. operate on ranges, PS operates on lists. A list is any combination of ranges,
  213. cell references, or formulas. This implies that all functions are fully
  214. recursive and can be nested to any depth. PS also reads and writes ASCII
  215. files, non-delimited, or delimited with any choice of delimiters.

  217. PS is a serious business tool. Other spreadsheet programs in the library are
  218. easier to learn to use for quick and dirty projects, but if you need real
  219. power and flexibility and don't demand Lotus compatibility, try Power Sheets.

  227. indirect cell addressing, programmable range operations, variable labels, array
  228. assignments, and more. Rebel uses functions keys for all menu selections, rather
  229. than the usual 1-2-3 menu style, and Rebel's approach is quite easy to learn and
  230. adjust to.

  236. two functions are very nice. The info filer looks good for address lists, but
  237. nothing heavy, and the communications is the weak link, not even supporting
